Valparaiso’s Tri Kappa will sponsor the annual Taste of Valparaiso from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday May 23 at the Porter County Expo Center.
This event features more than 40 area restaurants offering samples of their signature dishes. Interesting silent auction items, entertainment by local musicians, a cash bar, and 50/50 raffle will be included in the evening’s program.
The Taste of Valparaiso is the largest and most successful event hosted by Kappa Kappa Kappa. It is a wonderful collaborative effort between Tri Kappa and the local community. Proceeds from this event allow Kappa members to award over $12,000 to students pursuing higher education degrees. In addition, funds are allocated to needy families and numerous not-for-profit agencies in our community.
Since its inception, Tri Kappa state scholarship committees and local chapters have given more than $5 million in scholarships to Indiana students.
Co-chairwomen Susan Brychell (Purdue North Central) and Debbie Miller (Prudential Executive Group), along with every chapter member, intend to make the evening fun for all. Wearing the chapter’s black and white colors, Tri Kappa members host the event to show their dedication to service and fundraising in our community.
The silent auction is a highlight of the evening. Items for the silent auction are gathered throughout the year and include tickets to sporting events, gift certificates to area beauty salons and spas, custom and handmade items and a selection of creative gift baskets. A new feature this year will be a fun wine pull.
Members have dedicated themselves to finding unique items from local craftsmen and artisans. This is an event not to be missed!
Tickets for open seating are $30 in advance and available at Town and Country Market, Strongbow, Purdue North Central (Valparaiso campus) and Bartholomew Insurance in Valparaiso, as well as from any Tri Kappa member. Tickets will also be available at the door for $35. Tickets for a guaranteed reserved seat are available for $50 and may be purchased at Purdue North Central, 600 Vale Park Road in Valparaiso.
