Jamaican Me Crazy 8’s Duneland Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing

The Chesterton/Duneland Chamber of Commerce hosted it's 3rd Annual Jamaican Me Crazy 8's golf outing at the Brassie Golf Club in Chesterton July 8, 2011.

This years event included a farewell celebration for one of it's own, Tiffany Bley.  Tiffany said "I'm not going too far, I'm going to be working at Diversified Marketing Strategies in Crown Point.  I've enjoyed working at the Chamber and all the members of the Chamber a lot and I still look forward to working with them in the future."

If you haven't played Golf, Crazy 8's is a fun way to start out and play with your friends.  Each member of a team of "8" uses just one choice club through out all 18 holes and each team member takes turns hitting the ball and tries to be the lowest scoring team.  Brassie Golf Pro Duane Borcherding said "It's a nice crowd for a fun hit & giggle, you can only use 1 club and if you are caught in a bunker and are using a driver, well that's the hit & giggle part."

There was a first time golfer at the Crazy 8's event. Scottie Dunn, a Scotsman from Scotland itself where the game of golf originated.  He was just passing through from his home in Maine visiting friends on his way to Florida and thought he'd come out and give it a try. This first time 73 year old golfer said "It's Great"
