Kidstop Members Celebrate Earth Day with a Quilt

Kidstop-QuiltYouth members at Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County-Central Elementary Kidstop site marked Earth Day by making a quilt out of recycled t-shirts. Each of the members decorated their own piece of the quilt with a message about Earth Day or environmental awareness.

Kidstop is a program which provides before and after school child care. During the summer, parents can enroll their children in Kidstop’s KidsCamp program which is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM at the Valparaiso, South Haven and Forrest “Dusty” Rhode Portage Boys & Girls Clubs. Valparaiso KidsCamp begins June 8, 2012 and runs through August 20, 2012. South Haven and Portage KidsCamps run from June 7, 2012 through August 17, 2012. Fees are based on usage with morning, afternoon, all day and full week options available. Financial assistance is also available to those who qualify.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County has been serving youth for 40 years. The Clubs provide programs for nearly 5,000 boys and girls in the areas of character and leadership development, educational enhancement, career preparation, health and life skills, the arts and sports, fitness and recreation.
