Lakeshore PAWS Upcoming Adoption, Fundraising Events

Lakeshore-PawsLooking for a howling good time this October? Lakeshore PAWS invites pet owners and lovers, and those looking to adopt a new pet to attend one of its upcoming adoption and fundraising events.

On October 15, 2011, from noon to 4 p.m., Lakeshore PAWS' pets will be available for adoption at Kibble Kitchen's Puppy Paws & Kitty Claws Fall Open House. The event will take place at Kibble Kitchen, 5882 US Hwy 6, Portage. Pets from the Porter County Animal Shelter will also be available for adoption.

Activities include free nail trimmings by Smoochie Pooch Mobile Pet Grooming and pet photography by Hoof & Paw, plus raffles, snacks, door prizes, and more. Four-legged friends are welcome but no retractable leads. All proceeds benefit Kibble Kitchen.

Also on October 15, 2011, Lakeshore PAWS' pets will be attending Dr. Gast's Pet Costume Contest event at Gast Veterinary Hospital, 258 N 475 West, Valparaiso, from 1 to 3 p.m. Dogs and cats in costume (and their owners) are invited to participate in the contest.

Support Lakeshore PAWS while having a good time networking with pet lovers and their furry friends at It's Time to be a Party Animal on October 21, 2011. The fundraising event takes place at Chicago Party Animals, 1133 West Fulton Market, Chicago, from 7 to 10 p.m.

In addition to cute puppies and dogs, the evening will include appetizers and drinks—beer and wine. Dog owners are welcome to bring their pets.

Come meet some adoptable pets at Lakeshore PAWS' adoption event on October 22, 2011, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Walgreens in Chesterton, 580 E Indian Boundary.

Also on October 22, 2011, Lakeshore PAWS pets will be available for adoption at Vale Park's Howl-O-Ween Party at Vale Park Animal Hospital, 2606 Valley Drive, Valparaiso, from 1 to 3 p.m. Bring your favorite canine and feline friends for some Halloween fun—including a pet costume contest, trick-or-treating, and give-aways.
