According to a AAA survey of mechanics, a little more than three quarters of drivers fail to properly maintain their tires. That includes regular rotations.
When you bring your vehicle into Levin Tire and Service Center for a tire rotation, we’ll take all four tires off and move them to new positions on either axle. Rotating your tires simply refers to moving each one to a different position, front to back and/ or side to side.
But what are the benefits of rotating your tires?
1. Helps even out wear
Unevenly worn tires can cause all sorts of trouble for your vehicle, like a shorter tire life and stopping distance.
2. Improves handling and helps maintain traction
“Handling” refers to how your car behaves during emergency maneuvers and high-speed turns. In those situations, tires that are evenly worn are able to maintain contact with the road, and you’re less likely to lose control.
3. Keeps warranties valid
That one is self-explanatory. If you want to keep your coverage in place you need to keep up with all of the regular maintenance as suggested by the manufacturer.
So, how often should you have your tires rotated? Every time you change your oil. If you have your oil changed less than twice a year, have your tires rotated every six months.
