Wayco has been with Levin Tire and Service Center for nearly nine years. He began in the Hobart store, but has also worked in Highland and only recently returned to the Valparaiso store. With a background heavy in automotive repair, sales, and previous management experience, Wayco is happy to be back in a leadership role, taking stressful situations and making them easier for everyone involved.
“I enjoy taking a situation that may be bad and trying to make it good. If there weren’t problems, there wouldn’t be a need for us to do what we do,” said Wayco.
Those automotive problems are just the thing that Levin Tire and Service Center handles so well. From routine maintenance like oil changes to more intensive repairs, they’ve got you covered. “I supervise and make sure everything is ok, but the crew I have back there has a bunch of experience,” said Wayco.
Aside from having an experienced staff of mechanics fixing vehicles, the company aims to help people understand some of their vehicle issues. Insisting that there is a problem may work for some customers, but demonstrating the problem can help a customer understand and build a level of trust with the store.
“We have a big show-and-tell type of thing where a vehicle comes in and we show the customer the problems so that we can better explain what the issues are. We bring them out and show them, it’s part of our process,” said Wayco.
Educating customers on the repair process and needs of their vehicle is just one way Levin Tire and Service Center helps customers build trust in them. With a goal to build a relationship with customers by gaining their trust and exceeding expectations, going that extra step is important. “If the customer feels any kind of distrust they don’t come back to you, but I want to be sure to keep that trust” said Wayco.
Maintaining a good relationship during a stressful time can be difficult, but is a job that Wayco enjoys. Though customers may be upset or confused when they arrive, he finds reward in knowing they will get the service they need and understand more by the end of the process.
“It can be challenging at times, but it’s rewarding when you fix things. You always have your problems, but when you fix a car and make someone happy, that’s rewarding,” Wayco said. “The biggest thing is to keep customers happy. We want to keep them coming back to us for their service needs.”
