Levin Tire & Service Center’s Julian Hernandez Is Shining Example of What it Means to be a Leader

Julian Hernandez grew up learning how to fix things. From working alongside his uncle at the car shop, he eventually started picking up the tricks of the trade and has been in the automotive field ever since. Now, Hernandez is proud to represent Levin Tire & Service Center in Hobart as Store Manager, guiding others on these same tricks every day. Though Hernandez is in charge, his character can’t help but stay in team-member mode. This balance is what makes people like Hernandez perfect for leadership positions.

Hernandez recently moved from the Levin Highland location to Hobart, knowing no one when he entered as manager on the first day.

“Coming in, I didn’t know any of the crew here but still entered with an open and comfortable mind. I'm here to be a team member more than a boss type–to calmly work together through any issues that are presented,” Hernandez said.

Being promoted from Service Advisor to Sales Manager wasn’t too much of a contrast for Hernandez.

“It was very similar because if you are a service advisor you are already looking over everything that is done. You are always keeping an eye on something. It’s very similar with just a few more responsibilities,” Hernandez said.

As Store Manager, Hernandez works with customers and employees on a day-to-day basis. Maintaining confidence and positive energy with the team and clients keeps Hernandez going.

“My biggest motivation is definitely seeing the customers leave happy. Taking care of them is number one. What I love is a challenge. Say someone is in a bad mood, down on their luck, or upset. I love turning them around with our services,” Hernandez said. “That’s the biggest thing.”

Hernandez and his team take pride in their work ethic and are proud of the work they do, as clients continuously come back for their services.

“I want employees to take pride in the business. We are all working together to be the best,” Hernandez said.

Hernandez believes that the automotive field has also blown up thanks to social media and online reviews, and he sees feedback as motivation.
