Life Care Center of Valparaiso is a nursing home and rehabilitation center located in the heart of the Region. Its facilities and amenities have built up a positive reputation in the community, but its outstanding staff is what truly makes the facility stand out against the competition.

Executive Director, Amber Janeczko, began her career at Life Care Center in 1993 as a secretary. Janeczko knew from the start that she wanted to work in the healthcare industry. She worked in a nursing home while she was in high school to get her foot in the door, and when a position at Life Care Center opened up, she jumped at the opportunity.
“When I came in as a secretary, I knew very well that I wanted to grow in the company,” said Janeczko.
Janeczko, like many others at Life Care Center, has stuck around since her first day at work. The management team has 286 combined years of experience spread across 18 managers – a feat impressive in any field, but especially so in the healthcare industry.
“To see people sticking with it and pulling through and having each other's back is very rewarding," Janeczko said. "It's one of the that makes our facility so unique.”
The team works as a well-oiled machine, and its years of experience in every department ensures that there is a strong understanding of policies and procedures, which results in quality care.
“It's something we're really proud of. I think when you have that kind of longevity, your basic foundation is there. Our team allows us to give good patient care,” Janeczko said.
The management team isn’t the only team that’s stuck with the company. There are employees in many departments who have worked at Life Care Center for decades.
“I have nurses that have been here since I've been here. Those kinds of things in long-term care are a rarity,” Janeczko said.
In an industry with long hours and difficult situations, it’s important to have a strong support system to lean on. The crew at Life Care Center knows this truth firsthand, and the uplifting environment enables every employee to set high standards for themselves and others.
“I believe that I am only as good as the team that works under me. I have faith in the people that I work with, which makes my job much easier. We are able to lean on one another to find laughter when we need laughter. If you're having a hard time, you always have somebody to turn to. I think that's what's really important, and I truly believe that that's the one thing that has pulled us through,” Janeczko said. “I know for a fact that I would have never made it through the last couple of years without the people that I work with.”
