Local teen Brooke Wilson is headed to the National Youth Healthy Living Summit in Washington D.C. Brooke is one of two youth from Indiana who will be attending this event. Brooke has earned this opportunity through her involvement with the Teens As Teachers for Healthy Living team, a group of youth in grades 7-12 who complete comprehensive training to teach lessons about Healthy Living to other youth.
While at the Summit, Brooke will develop the knowledge and skills necessary to address today’s issues including nutrition education, physical fitness, wellness, and emotional well-being. She will also be trained to create an action plan to implement in her community and teach other youth about what she has learned.
Interested in learning more about teaching opportunities for teens through 4-H or would you like to have Brooke and her team delivery a lesson to a group of youth you know? Contact Brooke Sauter at BSauter@Purdue.edu for opportunities.
