Methodist Hospitals today announced that it is offering video appointments for patients at Methodist Physician Group offices and at the Methodist CareFirst Immediate Care Centers.
“We wanted to be sure that residents of our communities have access to the health care they need during this period when Indiana residents have been asked to stay at home,” said Matt Doyle, Methodist Hospitals Acting CEO. “We are always looking for new and better ways to serve our communities, and we believe that video appointments will benefit patients long after the COVID-19 crisis has passed.”
While not suitable for all situations, video appointments will allow people experiencing possible COVID-19 symptoms to be evaluated for testing without exposing others to the virus, and are appropriate for a range of minor illnesses and injuries as well as for chronic disease management and follow-up visits. And video doctor visits are covered by many insurance companies.
To schedule a video appointment at the CareFirst Immediate Care Centers patients can call 219-791-9389 or visit the Methodist Hospitals web site at www.methodisthospitals.org.
