More Than 500 Riders Expected for VNA’s Lorie’s Lakeside Century

Lories-Lakeside-CenturyThe Visiting Nurse Association of Porter County is well on its way to a record year for the VNA’s annual bicycle ride, Lorie’s Lakeside Century, on September 14, 2013. More than 500 experienced and novice riders from all over the Midwest will explore the solitude of shaded country roads, spectacular views of Lake Michigan and prairies as they bike along the lake and through the Indiana Dunes and countryside.

Riders can choose their ride distance, ranging from 25 – 100 miles along a variety of routes that include unique rest stops along the way at the Art Barn (featuring live entertainment from 10 am to 2 pm), Lions Club Pavilion in New Buffalo (with an Elvis twist), the Lakeview Pavilion (stunning view of Lake Michigan) and Garwood Orchard (where you’ll find the Orchard’s Annual Apple Fest underway!).

It’s not too late to register for the ride. Lorie’s Lakeside Century begins at Liberty Bible Church, 824 N. Calumet Avenue in Chesterton, Indiana. On-site registration is from 7 am – Noon CST. Advance registration for the ride is $30, with registration on the day of the ride $35.
