You're invited to lend a hand (and a square) to the community quilt for the upcoming exhibit Making Her Place at the Porter County Museum.
For centuries, fabrics have recorded significant events, individuals, communities, and stories. Visitors are invited to add their voice to this story by adding a quilt square representing a significant woman in their own lives.
This community quilt, representing the collaborative effort for women's rights, will be an ongoing piece of this permanent exhibit discussing women's history.
Members of the String-a-Long Quilt Guild will be at the Hour Glass Museum in Ogden Dunes February 23 from 1-4pm helping guests begin the quilt. No matter the skill level, everyone is encouraged to lend a hand in this effort to celebrate the history of Porter County Women.
The Hour Glass Museum is located at 8 Lupine Rd. in Ogden Dunes, IN. Public parking is limited but additional parking is available at the town hall located at 115 Hillcrest Rd.
