The 2021–2022 Valparaiso University men’s basketball conference schedule was announced by the Missouri Valley Conference on Tuesday.
The MVC slate will begin with a single game in early December as Valpo visits Drake in Des Moines, Iowa on Thursday, Dec. 2. Valpo prevailed 74-57 over the No. 25 Bulldogs on Feb. 7, 2021 in the most recent meeting between the two teams. Drake received an at-large NCAA Tournament berth last season and earned a first-round win over Wichita State.
After completing the nonconference slate, the Beacons will return to MVC action on Sunday, Jan. 2 at the ARC as Illinois State comes to town. Valpo will have three home Saturday games in conference play: Jan. 8 vs. Southern Illinois, Jan. 15 vs. Missouri State and Feb. 5 vs. Indiana State. Other home dates include Wednesday, Jan. 19 vs. UNI, Wednesday, Jan. 26 vs. Bradley, Tuesday, Feb. 1 vs. Evansville, Wednesday, Feb. 16 vs. defending MVC champion Loyola and the home finale on Wednesday, Feb. 23 vs. Drake.
Valpo will finish out the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 26 at Bradley before the State Farm MVC Tournament begins on March 3. The home schedule features 19 total opportunities for fans to cheer on the Beacons at the ARC – two exhibition games, eight nonconference home games and nine MVC home games. Head coach Matt Lottich’s team will play home exhibitions on Oct. 30 and Nov. 4 before tipping off the regular season on Tuesday, Nov. 9 vs. Toledo.
