If you get the chance, say hello to our newest staff members: Mrs. Karen Behrend and Mrs. Alene Sullivan!
Mrs. Behrend is teaching Algebra to all our eighth grade students. She received her undergraduate degree from IU in secondary Math Education, and her Master’s (also from IU) in Educational Counseling. She taught for five years at Carmel Junior High before her children, Max (grade 5), Sam (grade 3), Will (grade 1), were born. She is also employed as the account manager for her husband, Rob, in his dental office.
Mrs. Sullivan may look familiar to some of you. She first taught in Saint Paul’s third grade classroom when we moved into our current building. She is now back with us as one of our fifth grade teachers. She received her Bachelor’s in Education from Valparaiso University. Mrs. Sullivan has been married to her husband, Tim, for 25 years. She currently lives in Valparaiso and has two sons, Matthew (Valparaiso High School) and Andy (Vincennes University). During her interim year from St. Paul, she taught at Washington Township Elementary.
We are so fortunate to have both these talented ladies join our already fantastic team of teachers!
