New sales team members Callie Baird and Dustin Quering help take Team Chevrolet to new heights

Team Chevrolet in Valparaiso has established itself as one of the most popular dealerships in the Region by putting the customer first before all else. The two newest members of the dealership’s sales team, Sales Specialists Callie Baird and Dustin Quering, are dedicated to doing just that. During the relatively short amount of time they have worked at the dealership, Baird and Quering have demonstrated their commitment to upholding Team Chevy’s high standards of quality service and are invaluable assets to the sales team.

Callie Baird, Sales Specialist

Callie Baird first joined the Team Chevy family eight months ago. Over the years, she has worked as a bartender, server, and a certified nursing assistant. She also has some previous experience in auto sales. About two years ago, she sold vehicles at a Ford dealership in Lafayette before moving to a sales position at Wiers Chevrolet GMC in DeMotte. After staying there for a year, she began working at Team Chevy. Baird appreciates the fact that the Team Chevy dealership is within a convenient commuting distance from Wheatfield, her lifelong place of residence.

According to Baird, she never expected to return to car sales after leaving Wiers Chevrolet GMC.

"I originally wasn't planning to get back into the automotive industry," Baird said. "When Aric Miller, one of the finance and insurance managers here, offered me a job, I initially told him no. However, Aric spoke highly about the work culture here, so I decided to come in for an interview. Everybody here was so nice from day one. Our General Manager Dave Brubaker is easily the best boss I've ever had. I've never had a boss push me to excel as gently as Dave does. It's really nice to have a role model like him believe in me."

Although Baird likes the Chevy Traverse and drives a Chevy Trax, she is most passionate about trucks, having spent her youth hauling horse trailers around the country with her family. She owns a 2022 Chevy 2500 truck and uses it to haul her camper and her farm’s horse trailer. Baird looks forward to seeing what new technology Chevy cars will be outfitted with and looks forward to building up her customer base as she continues her career at Team Chevy.

“There's something special going on at Team Chevy right now,” Baird said. “Our team works together better than any team I've ever been a part of. These guys are like family to me. We almost had a record-breaking number of sales last month, which was really cool. It was special to have a hand in that.”

Dustin Quering, Sales Specialist

It has now been seven months since Dustin Quering first began working at Team Chevy. A lifelong resident of Northwest Indiana, Quering has been a salesman for over half his life. He started out working as a Verizon store manager for 16 years before going on to sell real estate. However, after working as a real estate agent for several years, Quering was more than ready for a change in career.

“I wanted to get back into a faster-paced sales field, so I thought I would try my hand at car sales,” Quering said. “I saw online that Team Chevy was hiring, so I decided to interview for a sales position with them. I love working here. Everyone is welcoming and kind. When I first visited Team Chevy, I didn't feel like I was walking into a dealership that had the ‘Get that customer!’ mentality. This place has a very laid-back feel to it. Everyone's a team player and they all want to make sure I succeed. That’s one of the main things I love about this place."

Quering said that Team Chevy’s supportive atmosphere is one of the reasons why he is pleased to come into work every day. He has a passion for sales and looks forward to continuing to offer his customers top-tier service. He noted that there is a vast difference between assisting a customer with a $500 phone purchase and a $50,000 vehicle purchase, stressing that the salesman should go the extra mile when guiding the customer through a large purchase. For his part, Quering remains committed to providing his Team Chevy clients with support from the moment they walk into the dealership to the moment they drive off the lot in their new vehicle. 

Quering seeks to make the car selection and purchasing process not only smooth, but also enjoyable for his customers.

“A car is no small investment,” Quering said. “I like helping people pick out the vehicle that is right for them while making the process as easy as possible. We’ve all been on the other side of the desk during the car-purchasing process, but it isn’t always a great experience for everyone. Team Chevy is all about providing great customer service and taking care of their customers. I want to make sure my customers have the best experience possible, so that’s why Team Chevy is such a good fit for me.”
