Tudor Floors Carpet One had a special visitor at their office the other day from retired NYC Firefighter, Peter Daniti, who presented Tudor President, Jan Stump, with a shadowbox containing a piece of steel from 9/11.
The gift was in thanks for Carpet One’s generous support of the Building for America’s Bravest; a foundation which builds “Smart Homes” for catastrophically-injured service members returning home from service.
The smart homes are called such because of the technology put into them that allows the home to adapt to the needs of an injured service member; like cabinets that can raise and lower for those in a wheelchair.
Carpet One is doing their part to help by donating money and services, and Lieutenant Daniti expressed his gratitude in a speech to Tudor.
“The reason I am here is because of you guys at Carpet One,” Daniti said. “Carpet One has donated over 40 floors for these smart homes and we truly appreciate it.”
But these homes come with a cost, an estimated $500,000 per home. And that’s where the fine folks at Tudor Floors are stepping into help out.
For each purchase at Tudor Floors, the company will donate $9.11 to Building for America’s Bravest.
It’s just their way of saying thanks to those who sacrifice so much to help protect us.
James Tudor, owner of Tudor Services, was thankful for his Tudor Floors’ support to our servicemen as well.
“Carpet One and Mohawk Carpet have taken an initiative to Build smart homes to help military heroes, Firemen heroes, and police heroes who have lost limbs and what not from the line of Duty,” Tudor said. “You could see Jan Stump was truly honored to have a visit from a New York Hero.”
James also spoke with Daniti about another program our local heroes doing to help out the community, Hoosier Burn Camp.
“I talked to Daniti for some time and we spoke of Hoosier Burn Camp,” Tudor said. After speaking of this I felt that it be pertinent to include Hoosier Burn Camp for Local enlightenment to help Indiana Children that are burned in fires to have an outreach to help these individuals as well.”
Whether it’s our local heroes here in the community, or the brave men and women overseas, it’s nice to know that there’s companies out there like Tudor Floors Carpet One that are helping to support them.
