Oak Partners keeps clients connected and informed with Halftime educational event

Oak Partners is committed to keeping its clients educated and informed so they can make the best possible financial decisions, and one of the ways it does that is through events. On Wednesday, August 30, Oak Partners held its annual Halftime event to treat its clients to a fun get-together and give them a market update about things past, present, and future.

Each year, Oak Partners holds all kinds of events including a Kickoff event to start the year off strong, a Halftime event to give a middle-of-the-year update, as well as smaller events focusing on specific topics such as Medicare, Social Security, and estate planning. The team also holds several fun events throughout the year to connect with their clients on a more personal level.

"Many firms hold seminars and dinner presentations, but I think one of the things that makes Oak Partners so special is that we hold so many different types of events throughout the year. Between educational events and our fun events like Oktoberfest and our golf outing, there are just so many ways for people to connect. We’re always looking for new ways to connect with our clients,” said Bridget Shoemaker, a wealth advisor at Oak Partners.

The events are always a big hit, but this year’s Halftime event broke records. Over 170 people came out to enjoy a nice meal among friends, making it the largest Halftime event Oak Partners has ever held. The Oak Partners team was thrilled to see so many clients excited to take part.

After everyone had the chance to mingle and enjoy some appetizers, the Oak Partners team jumped into a market presentation to help everyone better understand the current economy and how the market will continue to change in the future. People nodded and laughed along as Marc Ruiz, team leader and partner of Oak Partners, gave an overview of all the different things that have been happening economically.

“Our economy continues to be in a transition point. It’s been going on for 18 months. Everything is still chugging along even though interest rates have gone up by 5.5%. We’ve all been waiting to see the impact of these dramatic moves in interest rates but we just haven’t seen it yet. We’re in this sort of relentless waiting period, and we have to muddle through it to make good decisions,” said Ruiz.

Clint Henry, partner and wealth advisor for Oak Partners, emphasized how important it is for their clients to understand what’s happening in the market on an even deeper level and keep up-to-date as things change. He hopes the Halftime event was a big step in the right direction in keeping their clients as informed as possible.

“I hope everyone walks away with a better understanding of the market. I think this period in the market is extremely interesting, and there’s a lot of misunderstanding as to why the market is up and what some of the market’s pitfalls may be going forward. We meet with everyone individually, but this is just another step to get everyone in the same room and share the message,” said Henry.

One look at all the intent faces around the room proved that the clients were just as hopeful to learn. When it comes to making financial decisions, there is truly no such thing as too much knowledge, and Oak Partners is there to help. The Oak Partners team encourages all of their clients to reach out and share what they would like to learn more about in the future.

Ultimately, Oak Partners couldn’t have found a better way to keep their clients informed and connected. The team is grateful for all the people who came out and showed their support and is eager to hold more educational events in the future.

“All of our clients are so great. We have so many clients here tonight who have been clients for years, but we also have a lot of new faces as well. This has been a great chance to catch up with everybody. I can’t wait for the next one,” said Shoemaker.
