Oak Partners State of the Market gives clients hints of economic future

It’s always good to know what the future has in store. This is what the Oak Partners State of the Market series seeks to accomplish for its clients. Taking place at Gino’s East Steak House in Dyer, this event covered the market statistics in 2019 and evaluated what the economic landscape could look like this coming year.

“This event covers market data that our clients want to see,” said Crystal DeHaven, Director of Client Experience at Oak Partners Inc. “We have 40 clients who came in today, most of which have been with us for some time. It’s like a big family, everyone is connected, and it’s awesome."

Before the main presentation, the event catered its guests with a lovely dinner of steaks and chicken, along with a varied drink selection.

“I love events like these, and I love my clients,” said Cindy Stewart, of Oak Partners. “It’s nice to see them outside the office. Even though tonight is an educational event, everyone here is a little more relaxed and enjoying themselves.”

Once everyone was settled in after greetings and starter salad, the main presentation began. The host was Joe Starkey, Wealth Advisor and Partner with Oak Partners Inc. During the presentation, Starkey covered various topics including the stock performance of 2019, events in 2019 that had substantial effects on the market (such as the various impositions of tariffs on imports), and what the future could have in store for the market overall (such as the trade policy and the ramifications of the 2020 presidential elections).

“We do many events for our clients throughout the year, ranging from educational ones like the State of the Market series to more recreational ones like ice skating,” said Starkey. “An event like this builds a stronger bond between us and our clients because an educated client is a more secure and confident client. I’m very lucky to have such great clients!”

After the presentation, the guests finished their meals and mingled with their friends for the remainder of the night.

This was the first State of the Market of the month. Oak plans to host five more this month.
