On Tuesday afternoon (11/9) Chief of Police Michael Brickner announced that Sgt. David Richardson has been promoted from the rank of Patrol Sergeant to the rank of Patrol Lieutenant. 
Lt. Richardson has held numerous positions within the police department including Field Training Officer and Defensive Tactic Instructor. David is a graduate of Ball State University and a current member of the Emergency Response Tactical Team (S.W.A.T.).
Lt. Richardson’s promotion replaces an opening which was created when Lt. Blakley was transferred to Valparaiso High School as a School Resource Officer.
