“Outside of the Box” Children’s Art Exhibit this Sunday

Outside-of-the-BoxThe students of the children's art classes at the Chesterton Art Center will celebrate a year of wonderful projects with the "Outside of the Box" Exhibit at the Chesterton Art Center. The exhibit will feature work from children ages 3-16 in a variety of mediums. Throughout the year, the students have studied the work of a number of famous artists - Picasso, Dali, Matisse and Warhol, to name a few. The exercises have been loosely based on the styles of these artists. So, not only have the children been experimenting with many different techniques, they have also simultaneously been learning about some very influential artists. The children's classes are held weekly throughout the school year.

The Opening Reception for the "Outside of the Box" Exhibit will be held Sunday, April 14 from 2-4. The exhibit will stay up until the end of April. The Chesterton Art Center is located at 115 S. 4th St., Chesterton, IN 46304. For more information about the exhibit or the children's classes, please contact the Chesterton Art Center at 219-926-4711 or gallery@chestertonart.com.
