Parkview’s Stacy Schmidt Named VCS’ New Director of Elementary Education

Valparaiso Community Schools has named Stacy Schmidt the director of Elementary Education. Schmidt, the principal of Parkview Elementary, is excited to be coming to the new position.

“I have been thrilled to serve the students and parents in the Valparaiso Community School Corporation for the past ten years,” she said. “I loved the years I spent teaching in the district. I love working as an administrator in the district. I am now excited to begin a new adventure serving the families and staff of the entire district.”

Schmidt is currently enrolled in an educational leadership program with Purdue University, collaborating with ValpoLife.com Publisher Chris Mahlmann. One of the new initiatives of the VCS is to incorporate college credits to VHS students who want to get a head start on their college careers.

Despite the change in direction, Schmidt remains grateful to those who served in the position before her. “Dr. George Vrabel has done excellent work leading the district.  He has been instrumental in my development as a leader and I am most appreciative of his investment in my career.  It will be a privilege to follow him in this position."
