PNC To Commemorate Veterans Day

Purdue University North Central will host its annual Veterans Day program on Nov. 11 at 11:11 a.m. in the University Plaza near the fountain. The event will honor all veterans, with special attention paid to PNC students, faculty and staff who are veterans. The public is invited to attend.

Refreshments will be served immediately following in Library-Student-Faculty Building, Room 144. In the event of inclement weather, activities will be in the Library-Student-Faculty Building Assembly Hall, Room 02.

This year's program will include a welcome by Veterans Club President and PNC Veterans Program Coordinator Mark Strudas and reflections by PNC student veterans, including Vince Emanuele. Others scheduled to be in attendance include PNC Chancellor Dr. James B. Dworkin, State Senator James Arnold, State Representative Scott Pelath, Wall Gang President Steve Moore and LaPorte County Councilman Rich Mrozinski,.

More than 100 current PNC students have served in the military. As part of the ceremony, names of current or deceased veterans that have been submitted by PNC students, faculty and staff will be announced and honored. More than 50 names have been submitted to be read.
