Valparaiso 2, Portage 1 (Baseball)
Evan Walls drove in both Valparaiso runs in the top of the second after Portage went ahead by one in the first. Alfonso Casaday struck out five and walked four in three and a third innings to pick up the win for the Vikings, while Max Roberts struck out two in relief to get the save.
Chris Klenk had two hits in the loss for the Indians. John Velez struck out six in five innings of relief work for Portage.
Valpo also won the junior varsity game, 7-5, despite a 2-for-3 game from Portage’s Michael Lakomek.
Portage 158, Highland 167 (Boys Golf)
Eric Lewis was the meet’s top golfer, shooting a 36. Noah Kunstek (37) and Tep Junyanid (41) also scored for the Indians.
Portage 11, Valparaiso 1 (Softball)
Adrien Hall and Alexis Johnson each drove in a pair of runs for Portage, who won going away. Abby Alexander reached base three times for the Lady Indians.
Portage also won the junior varsity game, 11-5.
Valparaiso 12, Portage 2 (Freshman Baseball)
Ethan Michaels had two hits, a run and an RBI for Portage in the losing effort.
