La Porte 5, Lake Central 0 (Boys Tennis)
Michael Varda, Bobby Barden and Dru Kennedy were singles winners for the Slicers. Travis Upp and Tristen Manuszak (No. 1) and Brogan Briggs and Alex Nunn teamed for wins in doubles matches for host La Porte.
The Slicers also won the junior varsity meet, 4-2.
Crown Point 3, Valparaiso 2 (Boys Tennis)
Visiting Crown Point won all three singles matches (Bryce Bonin, No. 1), (Anthony Kendall, No. 2), (Lance Noerenberg, No. 3) en route to the victory.
Andj Lehnen and Alex Yiankes teamed for a win for the Vikings at No. 1 doubles, while it was the VHS duo of Juan Gil and Caleb Owens prevailing at No. 2 doubles.
Marquette 5, Bishop Noll 0 (Boys Tennis)
Visiting Marquette was a winner behind the No. 1 doubles team of Jacob Schmidt and Justin Smith, who earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory for the Blazers. Hunter Moldenhauer (No. 2) and Patrick McDonnell (No. 3) earned 6-0, 6-0 wins in singles matches.
Marquette visits in-city rival Michigan City on Wednesday.
Valparaiso 25, 25, 25; Portage 13, 13, 20 (Volleyball)
Sydney Wilkins totaled 13 kills and six digs for host Portage, who fell to 8-7 overall and 1-5 in the Duneland Athletic Conference. Kaitlyn Galey added 13 assists and five digs and Alexa Ciesielski seven kills for the Lady Indians.
Valparaiso was led by Rachel Bontrager, who had 13 kills and two digs. Dani Suiter added 18 assists for the Vikings.
La Porte 3, Portage 2 (Girls Soccer)
Host La Porte scored a pair of goal in the final minute-and-a-half to steal a win from Portage. The Lady Indians won the junior varsity game, 2-0.
MIDDLE SCHOOLS
Mishawaka John Young 46, La Porte Boston 0 (Eighth Grade Football)
John Young also won the sixth and seventh grade game, 40-0. The Boston eighth graders will look to rebound next Thursday against Michigan City at Kesling Field. The sixth and seventh grade team will host Kankakee Valley on September 30.
