The Valparaiso Parks Department invites the public to share their ideas, thoughts and concerns by participating in an online survey regarding future renovation, programming and capital improvements for Bicentennial Park. Bicentennial Park, located off of Burlington Beach Road, is a 15 acre site that has been serving the neighborhood and community since 1976. The Park Board has identified Bicentennial as an area to study for infrastructure improvements and perhaps an additional youth softball field. Lehman & Lehman Consultants is conducting a feasibility study that will include important public input. 900 postcards were sent to the adjacent neighborhoods with the online survey information and now the entire community is able to respond to the survey located on the Parks website at www.valparaisoparks.org. The online survey will remain in effect until Monday, September 28, 2009.
On Tuesday, October 6, the public is invited to attend a focus group discussion on Bicentennial Park to be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Welter Room at Forest Park Golf Course.
