Purdue Men’s Basketball Sets Program Record for Consecutive Weeks Ranked in AP Poll

The Purdue men’s basketball team garnered a No. 6 ranking in the Associated Press poll released Monday, marking a program-record 35-consecutive weeks that the Boilermakers have appeared in the poll.

The Boilers’ streak began on Feb. 4, 2008, and surpasses the previous school record of 34-straight weeks in the poll, set twice from 1992-94 and 1997-99.

Purdue has spent 14 of those 35 weeks ranked in the AP top 10, and 22 weeks in the top 15 spots of the rankings.

The Boilermakers return to action on Tuesday, when they play host to Ohio State at 7 p.m. ET. Purdue has won the last two meetings with OSU in West Lafayette, and brings an eight-game home winning streak into the contest.
