Randall Nicholas, Porter County Poet, will be performing in concert Friday, October 2, at 8 PM on the Front Porch stage, 505 E. Lincolnway, in downtown Valparaiso.
His one-man show Randall Reads: Poems from the Porch celebrates many of the regular performers at the Porch's Thursday night open stage and continues with a selection of his poems on other subjects read at this weekly event over the past two years.
"He has startled, amazed, and delighted us," says Jane Schreiner, Front Porch Music cofounder. "He has made us laugh and brought us close to tears. Any poem he reads is different and unpredictable yet recognizably his. Poetry has taken a new and exciting turn."
Randall is the first poet to give a show of his own at the Porch, which is known for its Fall, Winter, and Summer concerts featuring regional, national, and international musicians. Besides performing at the open stage every week, Randall records three weekly Randall Reads spots, broadcast over Valparaiso's WVLP radio, 98.3 FM.
