Northwest Indiana is a growing area of the country that welcomes many families that make their way to us. And with the families come the homes in which they must reside. So who comes in to play when it’s time to buy or sell a home? There are multiple businesses in the area, but one stands out in particular. Realty Executives Premier, located in downtown Valparaiso, gives home buyers and sellers the people, experience and knowledge to get the job done right on the first try.
So here we are with the second installment of the REP Series. The agent who gets the spotlight here is Jon Wolf. Wolf is a Broker Associate and Realtor. His job is to help buyers and sellers meet real estate goals and expectations, and he also represents builders and contractors with new construction opportunities in the Porter County area.
Wolf is married with three sons; one who is a college student at Florida College and the other two attend Valparaiso High School. His wife, Dawn, owns and runs Jack & Jill Academy Preschool in Hobart. Wolf enjoys golf and being involved in his community. He has been coaching for about 15 years, and he’s worked with places such as the Boys & Girls Club, YMCA, AAU level, Ben Franklin MiddleSchool and VHS. So what brought Wolf into the real estate industry?
“After being a PGA Golf Professional for 15 years serving private country clubs in Kansas, Indiana, Georgia & Nebraska, I made a decision to look for a career that offered me opportunities that were important to me and my family,” Wolf said. “I wanted to continue being in a profession where I was able to provide a valuable service that would help people; I wanted to be in a business where I had a flexible schedule so that I could be a better father and husband; And I wanted to be rewarded for the hard work and dedication that I put into my job. Real Estate is the one career I found that provides all of these opportunities.”
Wolf worked at another real estate company in Valparaiso before coming to Realty Executives Premier. He liked working there, but after a time he decided it was time to move on to a place that was more progressive with agents with similar ideals to his own.
“I was one of the first agents Mike Tezak approached about starting his office in Valparaiso and I was very impressed with his passion for the business and his desire to change our image from agents to executives. I was also drawn to the idea of working with a company that focused on the full-time executive,” Wolf said. “The atmosphere in the office makes the job enjoyable. Even though we are all independent contractors, we all work well together and are always willing to assist each other. We all have our difficult transactions at times but it is nice knowing that you have an unlimited amount of support from others if and when needed.”
Wolf went on to say that what sets Realty Executives Premier apart from other businesses like it is that everyone there shares the same desire to be dedicated to their clients and to represent them in the best way possible.
“I firmly believe that success is contagious and I don't think it is a coincidence that our executives have all increased their level of production since joining our company. Mike and Pam Tezak have created a special place for those that want to be true executives in the real estate business and to be respected in the community as true professionals,” Wolf said.
The term true professional can encompass many things. Wolf stated that the endgame is the same for many realtors, not all realtors themselves are the same. He has heard from many individuals about the lack of communication from their realtors. Given that there are many ways to communicate these days thanks to modern technology, Wolf sees little reason for this. He pointed out that realtors are in a the service industry and customer service is a huge part of what they do, which is why Wolf and the rest of the agents at Realty Executives Premier make it top priority to communicate with their clients quickly and completely.
Everyone at Realty Executives Premier work very hard to get the best results for their clients. And the best thing that clients can do to make their experiences even better during the home buying/selling process, according to Wolf, is for buyers to get pre-approved for financing so that the agents can show them houses that are in their price range. He fells that it would be a disservice to show clients houses that they could not afford. And for sellers, Wolf stated that they need to be aware of how important it is to make a good impression as far as pricing and presenting.
“The difference between “extraordinary” and “ordinary” is the little extras and both buyers and sellers shouldn't settle for less then extraordinary service when choosing a Realtor to work with. Buyers and sellers often pick a Realtor for the wrong reasons, family and friends,” Wolf said. “Real Estate transactions are some of the biggest financial decisions one will make and you want to be represented by someone that knows and understands the intricacies of the business, has established relationships in regards to financing options, is knowledgeable about market conditions, is a determined negotiator that has a solid track record and has your best interests at heart at the end of the day. “
