On Friday, May 30th, the students at Saint Paul Catholic School will be taking part in the 2nd Annual Relay Recess event for the American Cancer Society. Spearheaded by the National Junior Honor Society and teachers Judy Randazzo and Donna Shane, the day will begin with Mass in the church and a Survivors Breakfast honoring members of the school and church community.
In the afternoon, students will walk with their multi-level school “Families” along the Saint Paul Prayer Path, which will be decorated with luminaries in honor and in memory of those fighting cancer. Throughout the month of May, students have been working hard to help raise funds to find a cure for cancer. All grades are collecting “Coins for Cancer” in piggy banks- a friendly competition between classes. The NJHS students have also been selling chocolate bars and ice cream at lunch hours, as well as hosting a Pizza Hut fundraiser earlier this month. All told, students have raised around $3,000 for the American Cancer Society!
