Stanley Cup Coming to Valparaiso

Stanley Cup Coming to Valparaiso

The most coveted trophy in sports, the iconic Stanley Cup, is coming to Valparaiso’s William E. Urschel Pavilion, Thursday, July 26; 4:00-6:00 p.m. Washington Capitals head coach Todd Reirden, who called Valparaiso home for more than a decade, and wife Shelby, a Valparaiso High School graduate, will be bringing the cup back to the area to celebrate the Capitals’ first NHL Championship.

In an effort to build the game of hockey, which has been an instrumental part of Todd Reirden’s life, he will celebrate with Valparaiso Mayor, Jon Costas, Valparaiso High School’s Hockey Team and Valpo Parks’ Junior Hockey Program participants. The Stanley Cup will be on display for public viewing and photo opportunities will be available.

After viewing the trophy, we encourage the public to visit one of the many downtown Valparaiso dining establishments and enjoy the “Shout Section Big Band” Summer Rhapsody Concert at Central Park Plaza’s Porter Health Amphitheatre presented by Valparaiso Events.
