Superior Ambulance Paramedics Talk About Their Careers with South Haven Kidstop Members

BGC-Kidstop-Paramedic-1Paramedics from Superior Ambulance Service delivered a first-hand account of their occupations as emergency responders to Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County-South Haven Kidstop members participating in “Mitch’s Kids” Career Day. Paramedics Robert and America Devine demonstrated equipment they use on a daily basis, answered questions about their jobs and career path and gave the members a tour of their ambulance.

“Mitch’s Kids” is a joint partnership between the Governor’s Office, the Indiana Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, and the Indiana Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs that provides tutoring and career exploration and educational services to eligible children after school. All members are eligible to participate in a career exploration component to help understand the skills and commitment to education required to achieve successful careers.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County has been serving youth for 40 years. The Clubs provide programs for nearly 5,000 boys and girls ages 5-18 in the areas of academic success, good character & citizenship, and healthy lifestyles.
