At Big Shoulders Fund, we are committed to empowering educators with the knowledge and skills needed to provide high-quality education to students. As part of this mission Bishop Noll Institute hosted Cohort 2 of the Big Shoulders Fund Northwest Indiana Instructional Coaches Meeting. This event is a crucial milestone for instructional coaches in their second year of training as they prepare to become building-level instructional coaches. By strengthening their expertise, these educators will be better equipped to support teachers and improve student outcomes across Northwest Indiana.
The meeting featured Dr. Nicole Avina, a distinguished expert in literacy education, as the guest presenter. Dr. Avina led an insightful session on the Science of Reading, providing evidence-based strategies to enhance literacy instruction. Her expertise helps instructional coaches implement effective teaching practices that foster reading comprehension and student success.
Dr. Mia Jones, director of academics and instructional coaching at Big Shoulders Fund hosted this event.
