I updated to the new iOS 4.0 on Monday. I was amazed with all the new features. Now, like on the iPad, you can have iBooks, an eBook reader, on your iPhone or iPod touch.
You can also now change your background to whatever photo you like. You can make folders of apps so that instead of holding the maximum 11 pages, you can have 12 apps in each folder which allows you to have 192 apps per page and a total of 2,160 apps.
There is now multitasking on the iPhone and iPod touch. You can run as many apps as you want and at the same time, not drain the battery. All you do is open your apps normally and then if you want to switch to another app double tap the home button and all the apps you are running slide up in a single row of four which you can slide left or right. They call this fast app switching.
Next, Mail. Mail is now a unified inbox so you can see all new emails in oneinbox. You can also track emails by thread so that if you have a long thread of
email conversations, you can track it like that.
Next, you can make playlists in the Music/iPod app. Lastly, with iOS 4.0 there is a spell checker and also you are able to gift apps to friends or family.
