One of Chevrolet’s most iconic vehicles, the Equinox, is getting a major overhaul. The All-New 2025 Equinox is the crossover SUV’s first redesign since 2018. It comes with a striking new look, a comfortable and versatile new interior, a dynamic new infotainment touch-screen, and an array of models ready to meet the needs of any driver.
The redesign is a long time coming, with a look that evokes Chevy’s Traverse and a suite of new technology that add fun and convenience to the SUV. Dustin Quering, sales specialist at Team Chevrolet of Valparaiso, is already fielding interest and taking customers on test drives in the All-New Equinox.
“Customers have been really excited to see the redesign,” Quering said. “It has a great look, great features, great cargo space, and a good price. I think that’s what draws a lot of people to the Equinox – you can’t beat the value.”
The Equinox’s new look is the first thing any longtime fan of the SUV will notice. Next to previous years’ models, the 2025 Equinox stands out with a slightly larger body, with 2.5 inches of extra width, a larger grille, and squared-off wheel wells that make for a stronger, more confident look.
The interior is also dramatically refreshed with chrome finishings, less plastics, and more refined trimmings around different design elements. The gear selector is now a column stalk, adding more storage space in the center console.
The 2025 Equinox also introduces a new trim, the ACTIV, which adds a two-tone roof with roof rails, Evotex and sueded microfiber seating, stitched head restraints, and all-terrain tires.
“It’s a significant update; they really went bold with it,” Quering said. “It’s a more rugged look with sharper lines and a more distinct grille. The design really makes the Equinox pop.”
The biggest addition to the interior is the new 11.3-inch infotainment center. It is a massive upgrade in size compared to previous models’ 7-inch screen and is also oriented to face the driver, making it easier and safer to use. The screen provides immediate access to important car information, navigation tools, and various apps and music options such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
“The infotainment screen is what I hear the most about from customers,” Quering said. “People really like how massive it is compared to the one on the older models. They really like the HD Surround Vision, which lets you see all the way around your car when you’re pulling into a parking spot.”
Performance-wise, the 2025 Equinox maintains the SUV’s popular 1.5L four-cylinder turbo engine but swaps in a new transmission. The front-wheel-drive models use a new continuous variable transmission, while the all-while-drive models use a new eight-speed automatic. All setups bring 175 horsepower and over 180 lb-ft of torque, without sacrificing fuel economy.
“The move from a 6-speed transmission to an 8-speed is a big deal,” Quering said. “It’s going to bring you improved fuel usage and smoother acceleration.”
Quering and Team Chevrolet invite customers to drop by the dealership and take the All-New 2025 Equinox out for a test drive.
“The redesign has just been such a huge talking point for so many of our customers,” he said. “Most of the people who I’ve taken out on a test drive have ended up buying one. It’s just so hard to beat the value that the package offers.”
