Terry Lee Silhavy, 56 of Valparaiso, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family Saturday, March 29, 2014. He was born March 17, 1958 in Valparaiso, the son of Edward F. and Florence M. (Cook) Silhavy. Surviving is his sister, Linda R. (Michael) Fishback. Terry was also survived by 13 nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Edward W. Silhavy and sister-in-law Dora Silhavy. He was also part of the very first group of students who started at Vale Day School as a child. Terry also attended Banta School, which he remembered fondly. Terry will be remembered for his contagious smile, wonderful spirit, and silly ways. Everyone who met him fell in love with him. He made many friends of the years. In the last 5 years of his life. Terry was able to stay in his home with the help of many wonderful caregivers, as well as his niece Tiffany Gross. He brought a lot of joy to his family and friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St, Valparaiso, 12-2 PM with Funeral Services at 2:00 PM with Rev. Michael Fishback officiating.
