I joined the team at GreatNews.Life in October of 2020. My dream ever since I was a kid was to be a writer. I wanted to tell stories of those whose stories weren’t being told. I am a lifelong Region Rat. I grew up in Chesterton, went to the big city for college, but decided to stay in the Region. The city had made me jaded. I felt darkness and grief on levels I cannot describe in an appropriate way. My oasis of comfort was in the Region. My heart belonged in Northwest Indiana, so I followed what my heart told me.
I was fortunate enough to be brought onto the team by Chris, Stephanie, and Jenny. They gave me the chance to chase my dream. I got to tell the stories of my fellow Region Rats. Anything from covering Hobart’s ascension to State, to philanthropists in the Region, all of it. I couldn’t have been a luckier guy. I got pushed into the deep end of the pool, and I thrived in it. In a year that was full of unmatched levels of insanity, I am forever thankful for the amazing group of men and women I get the pleasure of calling my coworkers.
The team at the Life sites are truly amazing individuals. They’ve helped me create the best content I can, I’ve grown more as a person in the past three months than I can ever recollect. I’m proud to be a Lifer, this company pushes for those positive stories that aren’t covered in the news. I’m looking forward to being a Lifer for years to come. Hope was something I thought was lost in our world, but the stories of Northwest Indiana have given me that was missing for years.
