“We try to do resident events every month, and we try to kind of mix it up,” said Sabrina Reyelts, leasing consultant at The Lakes of Valparaiso. “With it being Halloween, we figured a trunk or treat would be great. We have a lot of families in the area, so we just thought it would be a really awesome thing to do for our neighborhood.”

Kids were running around in costumes and getting candy. Parents got to meet and get to know their fellow neighbors. Residents also got to bring guests to join in on the fun. It all amounted to a fun night for the community.

“The reason we have a community is, so keeping our residents happy and trying to be as inclusive with them as we can is super important,” said Reyelts.

The events are super fun and special for the residents. Each event has high levels of community participation and continues coming back.

“We get a lot of participation,” said Reyelts. “We do find that we especially see a lot of common faces, so we have people who keep coming back.”

The residents were very happy that The Lakes of Valparaiso did these events.

“I'm so happy that they did this for the community and I'm happy to be here,” said Tia Muhammad. “They're very inviting and everybody that I've run into at these events is so nice.”

These events bring people from all over the apartments together. At the Trunk or Treat various residents were even getting to meet each other. Others were catching up with their neighbor friends.

“We are very glad that everyone came out from all over the apartments,” said Jessica Storey, leasing agent at The Lakes of Valparaiso. We just really hope that they appreciate and enjoy their time. Next year, we can even do something even bigger.”

The community is very family-friendly and friendly to all. With events this fun, there are high hopes for more.

“It is a fantastic, well-niche community, and they're very family-oriented,” said Ilija Matoski.

“I feel that everyone really gets along. I'm a big fan of the events. I wish they would have even more.”

Residents’ well-being is the most important priority for The Lakes of Valparaiso. They have become pet-friendly in order to cater to pet-friendly households.

“We are very welcoming, and we love our residents,” said Reyelts. “We just try to have as much fun and make our residents as happy as we possibly can at all times.”
