The Nick Sommer Team sells business owners not only on commercial properties but also on Valparaiso

With over 28 years of collective experience, Century 21 Alliance Group Owner Nick Sommer, Associate Broker Chris Morris, and Associate Broker Connor Ritzi form the Nick Sommer Team, which is a commercial professional real estate brokerage team based in Valparaiso.

Sommer shared that the team’s typical day consists of four things: prospecting current clients listings for potential buyers, prospecting for new business, working with current clients and prospects, as well as documenting and cataloging activity. By looking for new leads, showing commercial property for sale or lease, and writing offers, the Nick Sommer Team is able to enrich the lives of clients.

“Our goal is to put them in a location either for lease or for sale that's going to help them in their business,” Ritzi said. “We’ll sit down with them, and they'll say, ‘Okay, we want to be in Valparaiso and we want to be on such and such streets with certain traffic,’ and we will provide them opportunities that meet that criteria. Basically, our goal is just to help their business be located in the best spot for them.”

While the Nick Sommer Team works in the commercial realm, they often sell not just commercial properties to business owners but also a place for those business owners to call home. With the team’s help, people often find that Valparaiso is the perfect location not only for their businesses but also for them and their families. Sommer recalls many examples of businesses that have been in Crown Point, Griffith, Highland, and other areas that decided to move both their businesses and families to Valparaiso after his team introduced them to the community.

Each team member finds it easy to sell business owners on choosing Valparaiso because it is the city they all personally call home.

“We like it here. We’ve chosen this for our home,” Sommer said. “We’re not only providing them our services as it relates to whatever specific business need they have—a building need or a warehousing need—but we also like the community, and we're all part of it. We're invested here and in Northwest Indiana. This is home, so we're going to be advocates of this area.

The work the Nick Sommer Team does in relocating businesses to Valparaiso has a threefold impact. It helps businesses, business owners, and the Valparaiso community flourish.

“It's about helping businesses to succeed by placing them in the best property possible, whether it be a lease or a sale. That is why they come to us; because they need a great location for whatever business they're going to be running,” Morris said. “That has a big, positive effect, and Nick works with the city to do that and the Chamber of Commerce and others to coordinate new people coming to town that have good businesses that help the economy.”

“If we put the buyer in a good spot and they do well in their business, that rising tide lifts all boats, so to speak. That's good for the local economy, in general, to see businesses succeed,” Ritzi added.

The Nick Sommer team said that the successful completion of a transaction and making the move as easy as possible for clients makes for a job well done and a job well done is what inspires them to do what they do. The best end result of working with clients is getting customer referrals as referrals signify clients’ trust in and respect for both the Nick Sommer Team and Century 21 Alliance Group.

“First and foremost, we really sincerely want to help people. Our job is to help people, and everything else just falls into place,” Sommer said.
