The Odd Couple was performed by the Valparaiso Theatrical Company. It was performed for four nights at the Ivy Tech Community College Auditorium. All four nights benefited local charities. Those four charities include; Autism Speaks, Porter County Animal Shelter, Ivy Tech Community College and Toys for Tots. 
If you aren’t familiar with the story of The Odd Couple, it is a story about a slob and sports writer “Oscar Madison” and a neat-freak and news writer “Felix Unger”. It takes place in New York City during the 1960’s. Both men get divorced and end up living together to save money for the alimony they must pay their ex-wives. Every Friday night they play poker, drink and smoke cigars with their buddies; Speed, Murray the Cop, Roy and Vinnie. Felix is constantly bothering Oscar with his incessant wining and cleaning, Oscar aggravates with his slobbish habits, smoking cigars, and wanting them to start dating again which allows them to meet the upstairs “Pigeon Sisters” from England. Felix does everything Oscar told him not to and the Sisters wind up thinking Felix is “The sweetest man they ever met”. This reaction causes Oscar to become jealous and ends up just causing another argument between Oscar and Felix…. and yet, when they think they just can’t stand each other another minute, they realize how valuable their friendship really is.
The Play was well performed and a lot of laughs, hopefully you got a chance to attend the performance, if not the VTC (Valparaiso Theatrical Company) is just warming up with more plays to head our way in the future. This is the second play by the VTC that I have attended, my first being “Monty Python Parodies”, and I have enjoyed them both. I am looking forward to the next Big Production in store.
