Crown Point Parade – Fresh off the Crown Point city-wide picnic on June 30, the annual 4th of July Parade delivered that same home-town feel and fun but packed with Independence Day pride. Hammond Naturalization Ceremony – Once again this year, Hammond invited the Region to celebrate and welcome 50 new U.S. citizens during the annual July 4th Naturalization Ceremony. Encased in these heart-felt moments is a deep sense of pride and belonging, representing each individual citizen’s story from about 25 different nations.
Hobart Parade – City officials described Hobart’s annual parade as the perfect Mayberry-type event, where families who have put down roots in the city gather to celebrate generations of love for their hometown.
La Porte Parade – The City of La Porte was once again named Indiana State Capital for the Day recognizing one of Indiana’s longest and most cherished community parades. Congrats to the Jaycees and all the volunteers who make this day exceptional for the entire community.
Portage Parade – The theme of this year’s Portage Independence Day Parade and Festival was Superheroes. It meant a little something different to everyone, but in the end, it all came down to thanking our nation’s real heroes for granting us the freedom to celebrate as we do each July 4th.
Valparaiso Fireworks – Valpo Parks is quickly gaining a reputation for throwing one of the region’s most entertaining fireworks events, complete with a food truck festival and live music. Comments galore reflected that the display gets better every year!
Whiting Parade – The City of Whiting celebrated 100 years of their July 4th Parade this year, featuring appearances by PJ Masks and other nationally-recognized characters, spectacular floats, and, of course, tons of family fun.
