Chief of Police Michael Brickner presented three members of the Valparaiso Police Department with Honorable Mention Awards for outstanding police work at the city council meeting held Monday night at City Hall.
Officer Ron Chapman received his award for while on patrol, in the early morning hours of June 23th he located three individuals that had recently burglarized a business at 1202 Formula Dr. As a result of Officer Chapman’s arrest several stolen items were recovered and three individuals were charged with burglary (Class C-Felony).
Officers John Patston and Eric Pickford received their award for while on bicycle patrol, on the evening of June 20th, they located a suspicious male subject in the alleyway of 62 Lincolnway. Through their investigation of the subject they located 126 grams of marijuana and $5650 in cash on the subject. As a result of Officer Patston and Pickford’s observations and investigative skills the subject was arrested, (4 Class D-Felonies).
