This past weekend was a great weekend to serve the Valparaiso community. On Saturday alone, there was the Dollars for Scholars 3 on 3 basketball tournament, Rebuilding Togther- Valparaiso's day for rebuilding the community, and the Taltree 10. PNC Students Develop Computer System for Salvation Army
Purdue University North Central students in the Computer & Information Technology program took on a challenge to apply their Information Technology stills to assist the Porter County Salvation Army. Students John Stratka and Joshua Sutton, are in the "Topics in Information Systems and Technology" senior capstone course, taught by Mark Smith, associate professor of Computer & Information Technology and department chair.

Two of the world’s most renowned choral groups and Valparaiso University ensembles will be featured during a special five-concert series of choral performances during the University’s 2009-2010 music season. The email hit my inbox on Thursday morning February 28, 2008. The message from the Joan Philo Casting Co. in Chicago blasted to the Times’ newsroom was straightforward: the agency was looking for real newspapermen, to be extras for an upcoming movie, Public Enemies. Women need not apply, there were no women reporters in the 1930s (or`40s or `50s, for that matter.) Oh, and by the way potential extras, the message said, the movie stars Johnny Depp.
