Day 6
Ni Hao all! Today we continued our visit in Jiaxing Nanhu District. In the morning we visited a park on South Lake (Nanhu) and we had tours of South Lake by boat, and we traveled to an island in the middle of the lake that is an open air museum as a tribute to the location of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party, and the name of our hotel "Zhejiang South Lake 1921 Club" reflects this founding of the party in 1921. We saw a replica of the boat on which the talks to form the party took place, and toured the island.

Then we went to an older section of Jiaxing called Moon River where we looked at the older buildings, visited some shops and had lunch at a famous seafood restaurant. Then we toured two schools. It was interesting seeing the kids working on practicing drawing their Chinese characters. Finally, we had more talks with the officials from Jiaxing City Nanhu District, which went well. We expressed our appreciation for their hospitality and extended an invitation for them to visit Valparaiso and continue our discussions regarding a possible sister city relationship. Now we prepare for our visit to Huzhou City Wuxing District, where we'll be heading tomorrow for the next 2 days.
