AmeriCorps engages more than 70,000 Americans each year in intensive service to meet community needs in education, the environment, public safety, homeland security, and other areas.  AmeriCorps members have served a total of more than 718 million hours nationwide, including 11,458,342 hours served by Hoosiers.

The Porter County Partnership, created through the United Way of Porter County, engages volunteers in service learning and volunteerism in an effort to ensure a brighter future for Porter County residents and youth, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances. This summer the United Way of Porter County has a number of temporary AmeriCorps opportunities available along with 20 full-time opportunities for this fall.
