The Valparaiso High School boys’ golf team advanced to the state finals meet after placing second at the 2011 Regional meet, held at Beechwood Golf Course in LaPorte on Friday.
Valparaiso’s score of 308, nine behind the first-place LaPorte Slicers, was headlined by Andrew Gariup’s one-over-par 73. Gariup was followed by Bobby Jacob’s 75, Kyle Meihofer’s 79, Michael Gariup’s 81, then Logan Bertalan’s 82.
The Vikings will play in the state meet at The Legends Golf Club in Franklin, Indiana, with Round 1 beginning Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 6:30am CST.
