Valparaiso Events announces three new board members

Valparaiso Events is pleased to announce that three new members are  joining its Board of Directors. Coming from small business, education, and  nonprofit fields, the new members bring years of experience and leader ship to help guide and enhance the organization.  

The new board members include: 

  • Kelly Anthony, JD, MBA, Director of Government and Community  Relations, Office of the President, Valparaiso University 
  • Tom Rowland, CPA, Owner of Treehouse Financial, Inc.
  • Lori Simon, Executive Director, Home Team Valpo, Inc. 

A member of Delta Theta Tau philanthropic sorority and currently serving  on the Hilltop Neighborhood House Board of Directors, Kelly Anthony  brings a wealth of knowledge regarding community engagement and  impact to the board. Active with the Indiana Small Business Development  Center and a current board member for the Porter County Parks Foundation, Tom Rowland’s small business acumen and financial background  enhance board expertise. And with previous experience on the staff and  board of Valpo Events and current leadership roles in the local nonprofit  world, Mayoral Appointment Lori Simon contributes invaluable institutional knowledge and nonprofit know-how.  

“We are excited to welcome these three community leaders to the board,”  said Doug Mogck (Northwestern Mutual), current Board Chair. “Their skills  and backgrounds complement our sitting members and will help Valpo  Events continue to thrive and grow.”  

Cycling off the Valparaiso Events Board of Directors are Jeanette Binder (Martin Binder Jeweler), Jim Jorgensen (Hoeppner Wagner & Evans LLP), and Patrick McGinley (Teachers Credit Union). Valpo Events is grateful for their many years of service and the invaluable time and expertise given to grow, sustain, and better the organization.
