The 2011 Valparaiso High School football season kicks off on Friday, August 19, 2011 with the Vikings playing host to rival Penn Kingsmen in a matchup of two of the state’s top teams.
The game will be broadcast live on ValpoLife thanks to the Region Sports Network’s radio team, with the broadcast starting at 6:00pm CST.
The Vikings start the season as the Region Sports Network’s #1 team in the region, after their 13-1, final-four finish last season. Here is an excerpt from Region Sports Network’s Weekly Top 10, featuring the Vikings on the top spot:
No shock at all here in the #1 spot, as the Vikings have loads of talent coming back to a team that ran the table until semi-state in 2010. With Paul Andrie, Andrew Kittridge and Bryon Duncan all returning to the Viking backfield, this team is going to score a lot of points, as long as they get good line play.
