Valparaiso University Brings in Experts to Discuss Entrepreneurship

New Events for Campus and the Community at the Innovation Hub

Valparaiso University’s Innovation Hub (IHub) will host three expert talks this September aimed at helping students, faculty, staff, and members of the community learn how to turn their ideas into a business. All events take place at the IHub, McMillan Hall, 1806 E. Lincolnway, Valparaiso.

September 13: What’s My First Step? Presented by Dushan Nikolovski

You want to start a small business, but where do you begin? Dushan Nikolovski, director of the Innovation Hub at Valparaiso University, will cover some of the basic steps necessary to start your business, and help you create a blueprint that will provide clear guidelines, purpose, market, finance, competition, goals to attain and more.

September 22: Insights from a Serial Entrepreneur and Engineer Extraordinaire, presented by Cary Conrad ’79

Learn the ins-and-outs of effective fundraising strategies tailored to your startup and business needs from Cary Conrad, serial entrepreneur with years of experience and current president of Silversky, a cloud-based cybersecurity platform. 

September 27: Business Law 101: Tips & Tricks for Launching or Re-Launching Your Business with Angela Crossin, Esq. 

Understanding business law can be a major hurdle to new entrepreneurs, and Angela Crossin is here to help. As a business lawyer with a focus on small businesses and nonprofits, Angela sees herself as a guide, bringing clients to clear, concise and sound business decisions. Her workshop will explore key business law subjects crucial for every business owner.
