The Valparaiso University Department of Athletics and the unit of Campus Recreation & Well-Being have announced the continued growth of Valpo Esports with the addition of Valorant to its competitive offerings. This spring, the Valorant team will compete in the Missouri Valley Conference for its inaugural season. League play is slated to begin the week of Jan. 27.
“Valorant’s diverse player base aligns perfectly with our commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for all students,” Graduate Assistant for Esports Henry Woofter said. “We’re thrilled to offer this exciting opportunity to our esports community.”
"Adding Valorant to our competitive offerings will attract new students not only to the program, but to the University, and further solidify Valpo Esports as a top-tier program in the national esports scene," Assistant Athletic Director for Campus Recreation and Well-Being Chris Smith said.
