The public is invited to a Veterans Day observance at the Service Memorial. It is hosted by the City of Valparaiso, the Valpo Parks Department, and the Valpo Parks Foundation, held on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. The Service Memorial at Foundation Meadows, 3210 N Campbell, will serve as the backdrop for the occasion.
City Administrator and Navy Veteran Bill Oeding and Parks Department Director John Seibert will address the importance of those who have served, and those who are currently serving in The United States Armed Forces. Most importantly, there will be a reciting of all names inscribed on the Duty & Sacrifice monument which is devoted to military service people from the Valpo area who gave their lives in the service of their country. A wreath will be placed at the base of the monument to honor them.
